Mobile Devices May Draw Unwanted Attention

F-Secure released the results of its study about the attitudes of users about mobile device security. The company surveyed countries to discover that three-quarters of users were aware the potential risk malware posed to their phones. Attitudes about who and how they should be protected differ greatly from government to personal or provider related responsibility.
Mikko Hypponen, of F-Secure, explained “So far there have been about 400 mobile viruses detected, but as smartphones replace PC’s as the dominant Internet platform, we can expect this figure to rise.”
In the light of this announcement, the news that Flash has become fully functional on cellphones becomes a little less fun. Opera Mobile 9.5 now has Flash capabilities to enable watching youtube videos or stealthy redirection to nefarious malware distributing sites wherever you should roam.
