Presidential Campaign used as Malware Decoy

Symantec has noted that the presidential election frenzy is serving as clever camouflage for some malware distributors. Recently spotted: spam baited with Hillary Clinton’s name that leads to a Google redirect and, as Brian Krebs puts it, a “spam-spewing zombie.”

Krebs also notes that campaigners have already been hit similarly: Ron Paul’s campaign bore the brunt in October 2007.
