Valentine’s Day e-cards can hold more than best wishes. Brian Krebs in his Washington Post “blog”:http://blog.washingtonpost.com/securityfix/2007/02/valentine_or_virus_1.html warns of the dangers of fake e-cards. According to “F-Secure”:http://www.f-secure.com/weblog/archives/archive-022007.html#00001112, a Finnish security group, cards have already been fakes under the name American Greetings. Going as far as creating a fake American Greetings website, the spammers take advantage of people trusting holiday-related links.
Clicking on the link for kisses, chocolates, or unicorns opens the computer to a “Trojan horse”:http://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/trojan-spy_w32_bzub.shtml with nasty password stealing capabilities.
