Google Expands Badware Notifications for Webmasters
Posted by Erica George
StopBadware’s partners at Google today announced changes in their badware warnings process to expand notification to webmasters of sites Google has flagged as hosting or distributing badware.
Google is adding to the information available to webmasters registered with Google Webmaster Tools. Webmasters will now be able to see examples of specific URLs where badware was found on their sites.
Google has also implemented an email notification system for webmasters whose sites are being flagged. They will be emailing to several common aliases used by webmasters to attempt to contact webmasters who may not have Webmaster Tools accounts.
You can read more about these changes on Google’s own Webmaster Central blog post.
